Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

We are asked many questions about our Kore™ system and modular panelization in general.  Here are some of the most frequently asked questions:

Q:  What is a Kore™

A:
The Kore™ is a modular unit consisting of completely finished bathroom, kitchen and laundry areas.

Q:  Can I save money using your Kore™?

A:
Yes!  The Kore™ unifies the most expensive rooms in your home - the bathroom, kitchen and laundry area; enabling us to eliminate compound profits and reduce your costs.  You also save by not shipping finished plaster over the road, as with most modular homes.

Q:  How is the modular Kore™ different from a modular home that comes in boxes?

A:
The Kore™ is the only "box", complete with all the plumbing, electrical (including panel), cabinets and flooring.  A small boom installs the Kore™ on your foundation, then the remainder of the structure is made up with wood panels.  The advantages include less "buttoning up", monthly interests, field labor and transportation costs.  Our designs are highly flexible, and we send out our employees to do all field tasks.  Unique to our modular installations in the ability to transport the Kore™ without disrupting your new neighborhood and upsetting your neighbors.

Q:  Waht are wood panels?

A:
Panelization is simply the process of making wall sections ina factory rather than out at the construction site.  The walls have all the windows and doors cut out and ready to be installed.  Panelization reduces waste in the field, eliminates the need for large expensive framing crews and enables quicker construction of your home.

Q: Where is HomeKore Manufacturing located and how long have you been in business?

A:
Our factory facilities and home offices are located in Lakefille, MA We have been in business since 1978.

Q:  Do Massachusetts towns allow your type of modular housing to be constructed?

A:  Yes.  We are fully certified by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and meet or exceed all local building codes.  All inspections onthe Kore™ modular are provided by a third party inspection agency also certified by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  A local building inspector will inspect the remainder of your home just as he would inspect an onsite "stick build" home.
